Measurements: 45 x 35 cm; 62 x 52 cm (frame).
Devotional representation of a saint of the Franciscan order, recognizable by the humble brownish habit. The religious is in the foreground standing before the viewer in a triumphal position. In one of his hands he holds a cross as a banner, while with the other he raises a crucifix with the figure of Jesus. On the saint a crown, while in the lower area several soldiers lie defeated. Francesco renounces to the great inheritance received from his parents and decides to live poorly, giving example of authentic Christian. He soon had several young disciples, called by the saint "order of the Friars Minor". In 1210, Pope Innocent III granted them the foundation of the new order.
