Devotional painting resolved in a clearly baroque language: the Virgin, of half body, wraps the sleeping Child in a snowy cloth that she holds delicately. Her gaze, raised and serene, reveals a softly enraptured face. The intense red of the tunic stands out, in vibrant contrast with the alabastrine flesh tones, modeled by the light and a chiaroscuro of vigorous theatricality.
