Three devotional oil paintings on glass, from the Majorcan or Neapolitan school of the eighteenth century: designed for domestic or conventual recollection.
In the Annunciation, the instant in which the archangel Gabriel appears to the Virgin Mary is represented. The scene, bathed in a golden light and enveloped in a cloudy atmosphere, shows the angel descending with a solemn gesture while pointing upwards, where a divine radiance opens with the presence of the dove of the Holy Spirit.
Ecce Homo centers its dramatism in the figure of Christ crowned with thorns, with his hands tied and his face bowed, in a gesture of resignation and pain. It is an image of profound pathos, typical of baroque sensibility, which invites to the pious contemplation of sacrifice and redemptive suffering.
The third work presents a serene and luminous vision of St. Joseph, seated on clouds, with the Child Jesus in his arms. The saint holds the flowered rod, traditional attribute of his purity and divine election, while the Child, naked and wearing a red mantle, looks at the viewer with an open and trusting gesture.
