The composition of this engraving brings together Saint Clare of Assisi and Saint Francis in an attitude of adoration before the Child, the theological and visual axis of the scene. The identification is reinforced by the Franciscan habit, the collected gestures and the presence of symbolic attributes, the humility of the manger, the supernatural light that radiates from the Child, common resources in Baroque painting.
