It presents a visible restoration on the back.
Measurements: 38 x 62 cm; 63 x 76,5 cm, (frame).
Grimani was born in Trieste. He developed a landscape painting indebted to romanticism, but already close to the aesthetics of the end-of-century decadence. Here we show a sunset on a fishermen's beach, with the figures silhouetted against the light. The orange-tinted sky picks up the last rays of a faint but intense sun, and the waves break on the shore in rhythmic cadences, making an infinite number of reflections on the sand glitter like in a mirror.
