The English landscape school has its origin between the end of the XVIII century and the beginning of the XIX century, as a result of Canaleto's stay in London. The new concept of the "picturesque" arose, that which was worthy of being painted, and artists, both professional and amateur, went out into the countryside to paint in the open air. English artists successfully adhered to the pre-romantic and romantic aesthetics, looking for places that triggered emotion, memories and sensations where nature is a source of mystery. This landscape inherited the English landscape tradition, although from a completely contemporary perspective, once assimilated the international current of impressionism, taken to a purely national language that is based on the realistic and industrialized capture of the London of the time.
