Although we do not have information about the life and work of the painter Victor Hansen, we know that he visited and was nourished by the art of cities like Rome. In this sunny view of the forum of the Eternal City he is interested in architecture and urban atmosphere. The columns of the Temple of Castor and Pollux can be identified in the left foreground, and further in the background are other ruins and architectural elements characteristic of this historic area of Rome.
