Eveli Torent was a Spanish painter and draughtsman, an outstanding figure of the second generation of Catalan modernism and with a multifaceted personality that led him to be an adventurer, mason and jurist. He studied at the Escuela de la Lonja in Barcelona, where he was a disciple of Ramón Martí Alsina, an influence that was noticeable in his early naturalistic landscapes. ? orent moved in the epicenter of Catalan modernism, the famous café "Els Quatre Gats". There he rubbed shoulders with artists of the stature of Pablo Picasso, Carles Casagemas and Joaquim Mir, participating in the first exhibitions of the circle. He was a prolific draftsman and collaborated with numerous magazines of the time, both in Barcelona (such as Luz and L'Esquella de la Torratxa) and in Paris (L'Assiette au Beurre) and Madrid (Blanco y Negro). He traveled to Paris, New York and finally settled in Ibiza, where he acquired a tower and a private museum, becoming an eccentric and much loved figure on the island.
