Berthe Constance Ursule Art was a Belgian painter specialized in still lifes. She received her artistic training under the tutelage of Alfred Stevens and was advised by Franz Binjé. Berthe Art exhibited her work at the Palace of Fine Arts and in the Women's Building during the World's Fair in Chicago in 1893.
Her paintings are characterized by depicting objects such as antiques, bibelots and small decorative objects, so they are often referred to as accessory still lifes. In addition to his artistic work, he gave drawing and painting classes to upper-class young women, including the painter Jeanne Maquet-Tombu. She also gave refuge to the French painter Roger Parent, who dedicated a famous portrait to her.
Berthe Art was a member of the Cercle des Femmes Peintres, a Brussels-based art club active between 1888 and 1893, the Belgian equivalent of the French Union of Women Painters and Sculptors. Its members included artists such as Jeanne Adrighetti, Alix d'Anethan, Marie de Bièvre, Marguérite Dielman, Mathilde Dupré-Lesprit, Mary Gasparioli, Marie Heijermans, Pauline Jamar, Rosa Leigh, Alice Ronner, Henriëtte Ronner-Knip, Rosa Venneman, Marguerite Verboeckhoven, Emma Verwee and Marie de Villermont. This group organized exhibitions at the local museum in Brussels from 1888 until its dissolution around 1902.
In 1911, together with several friends from the now defunct Cercle des Femmes Peintres, she founded a gallery in Brussels called Galerie Lyceum.
