Landscape resolved with a loose and vibrant brushstroke, characteristic of the most mature Meifrén. The attention is centered in the effects of light and atmosphere, with a free construction of the space and a contained chromatism that connects directly with the Mediterranean impressionism.
Eliseu Meifrèn i Roig was one of the main representatives of Impressionism in Catalonia. He trained at the Llotja School in Barcelona and furthered his studies in Paris, where he came into contact with the modern currents of European painting.
He exhibited regularly at the Sala Parés in Barcelona and participated in numerous national and international competitions. His work is preserved in important institutions such as the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC), the Museo del Prado, the Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao, as well as in numerous public and private collections.
