Coastal view treated with a loose and luminous brushstroke, where Meifrén prioritizes the atmosphere and the effects of light on the detailed description. The popular architecture and the road leading to the sea structure the scene, resolved with a warm and Mediterranean palette, fully representative of his impressionist language.

Eliseu Meifrèn i Roig was one of the main representatives of impressionism in Catalonia. He trained at the Llotja School in Barcelona and furthered his studies in Paris, where he came into contact with the modern currents of European painting.

He exhibited regularly at the Sala Parés in Barcelona and participated in numerous national and international competitions. His work is preserved in important institutions such as the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC), the Museo del Prado, the Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao, as well as in numerous public and private collections.
