The work follows a classical and exuberant compositional scheme, closely linked to late romanticism and academicism. The center of the composition is a basket (barely visible at the base) from which sprouts a dense and vibrant floral arrangement. The flowers expand radially, creating an irregular silhouette that adds dynamism.
The use of a neutral and very dark background is a purely baroque resource (tenebrist style) that the Spanish school of the 19th century maintained to emphasize the intensity of the colors and the volume of the objects.
