Jules Paul Victor Robichon was a French painter who specialized in still lifes, flowers, and hunting scenes, working within the French academic tradition of the second half of the 19th century. Trained in Paris under the influence of prominent masters of genre painting and still life, he developed a solid career. His work is characterized by remarkable technical virtuosity, careful attention to detail, and a special focus on the effects of light and texture.
Robichon exhibited regularly at the prestigious Paris Salon, where he gained recognition for the quality of his works and his fidelity to the French naturalist tradition. His painting follows in the footsteps of the great nineteenth-century still-life specialists, combining descriptive precision, compositional elegance, and a deep understanding of nature.
Today, his works are part of public and private collections in Europe and the United States, and are particularly prized by collectors of 19th-century French painting. His legacy stands as a prominent example of the continuity and renewal of the still-life genre within the French artistic context of the Belle Époque.
