Leopoldo García Ramón spent a long period in France, which earned him the nickname “el francesito” and had a significant influence on his career. Impressionism, as well as Luminism as represented by Joaquín Sorolla, are essential styles for understanding his painterly style. His ability to capture atmosphere and depict the unique luminosity of the Spanish east coast are fundamental and defining elements of his style and his approach to painting throughout his entire career. Some of Leopoldo García Ramón’s works are housed in the Museum of Fine Arts in Valencia, as well as in major private collections.
