A painter and set designer, Oleguer Junyent trained in Barcelona and Paris, and at the age of fifteen began working as a set designer for the Gran Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona. In 1923, he helped organize the Barcelona Furniture and Decoration Exhibition and also participated in the 1929 International Exhibition. He served as president of the Barcelona Artistic Circle (1925). Having distanced himself from the theater during those years, he devoted himself to decorative and easel painting, and in 1930 he won the “Barcelona as Seen by Its Artists” contest. His work is currently represented at the MACBA and the Museum of Fine Arts in Valencia, among others, as well as in various private collections.
