This oil painting depicts a twilight landscape with a humid atmosphere imbued with lyricism, constructed through the juxtaposition of planes of color, foreshadowing the concept of lyrical abstraction. Thus, the ground appears rendered through irregular curved lines—furrows in the mud filled with water that reflects the sky like a mirror—which rises above the ground, occupying the upper half of the panel.
