Joaquim Terruella Matilla was a Catalan painter and draftsman associated with the Catalan landscape tradition rooted in Impressionism. A nephew and student of Segundo Matilla, he was also directly influenced by Santiago Rusiñol, with whom he traveled to Italy in 1923 and shared a working residency in Aranjuez. He began his career with solo exhibitions in Barcelona in 1916 and later presented his work at leading venues such as the Sala Parés and the Sala Gaspar, in addition to exhibiting in Madrid, Paris, and other French cities. Although he also took a special interest in bullfighting themes (he even worked as an illustrator for *El Día Gráfico* and *La Noche*), landscape painting occupied a central place in his body of work. His works are held in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid, and the Provincial Museum of Lugo.
