Tadashi Ohnuma, born in Tokyo in 1941, has been living in Toledo for nearly forty years, a city from which he draws for many of his compositions. Ohnuma was born in Tokyo and studied Fine Arts at the Metropolitan High School in the same city.
After living in Madrid for two years to learn Spanish, half a year in Villanueva de la Vera (Cáceres) and a year and a half in Valdepeñas to learn about wine and painting, he arrived in Toledo with the intention of studying El Greco.
Finally, Ohnuma decided to settle in the city after "falling in love" with its sights and Spanish culture.
Ohnuma's painting is, in short, suggestive in both form and content. He has exhibited his work in many Spanish galleries and also in his native Japan, especially in Tokyo and Nara.
