JOAN CLAPERA MAYÀ (Olot, Girona, 1931 - 2008).

Joan Clapera was a student of the School of Fine Arts of Olot, where he studied drawing, painting, engraving and enamel with the teachers Martí Casadevall and Pere Gussinyé. Around 1952 he joined the Cràter d'Art group and, after participating in several competitions, he held his first solo exhibition in 1961. It was at that time when, among other distinctions, he obtained two silver medals from the Diputació Provincial de Girona, in 1959 and 1964. In 1967 he began a long journey, with the purpose of expanding his training, which would take him to France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Great Britain.
