FERMÍN SANTOS ALCALDE (Guadalajara, 1909 - Sigüenza, 1997).

After initiating his formation in the School of Arts and Offices of Madrid, at the end of the Civil War he enters the Superior School of Fine Arts of San Fernando, studies that were paid thanks to a scholarship of the Delegation of Guadalajara. There he had as teachers Vázquez Díaz, Eduardo Chicharro, Benedito and José Garnelo. After graduating, he began working as a painter-decorator for the Fundación Generalísimo Franco. From then on his career was dazzling, devoting himself entirely to his art, both in easel painting and in the decoration of buildings and enclosures. Among his numerous distinctions are the "Vázquez Díaz" Prize and Honorary Degree, several medals in the Salones de Otoño (Golden Palette in the 1981 edition) and the Golden Bee of the province of Guadalajara. He exhibited in Spain, the United States and Libya, and is currently represented in his museum in Sigüenza, as well as in the Vatican Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid and the Camón Aznar Foundation, among many other public and private institutions.
