Painter of self-taught formation, Antonio Estradera developed his career in Barcelona, where he became known in 1945. His first works are markedly post-impressionist, although his painting soon evolved towards expressionist approaches, mainly focused on color. He was a founding member of the Lais group, and a signer of the "Black Manifesto" (1949). Throughout his career he took part in some artistic contests and competitions, being awarded in 1971 with the Extraordinary Prize of the Critics in the Painting Prize Villa de Palamós. He participated in the Hispano-American Art Biennial held in Barcelona in 1952, and in 1959 he was selected to show his work in the Spanish pavilion of the US World Trade Fair, held in New York. In 1971 he won a Painting Prize at the Biennial of Sports in Fine Arts, held in Madrid, and the following year he had a solo exhibition at the Bilbao Art Gallery, presented by José Camón Aznar.
