Painter and illustrator, Francesc Viladot was formed in Barcelona, first in the School of La Lonja and later in the Faculty of Fine Arts. He began to exhibit individually in 1979 in Barcelona, presenting his work at the Born Gallery, and later at Casa de L'Ardiaca, Sala 4 Gats, Athenea Gallery, etc. He also showed his work in Castellón, Tarragona, Sitges, Cadaqués and many other Catalan cities. In 1980 he obtained a grant from the Ministry of Culture. He has done illustration and design work for various publishers and Catalan institutions. In his pictorial work, which he does in mixed techniques, oils and acrylics, he recreates the human figure, preferably within an expressionist concept of violent chromatism and torn drawing. Viladot is represented in the Art Collection of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona).
