Self-taught artist influenced by Japanese poetry, Buddhism and catholic churches, Jauregi Koldobika works both sculpture on stone, wood and iron, as well as graphic work (drawings and collages, silkscreen and woodcut). He has also designed jewelry and has made performances in which he has experimented with different materials. Jauregi's style is characterized by the search for spirituality, Zen and oriental philosophy that, according to the artist himself, has been in his life. His works are part of the nature that surrounds him, in fact many times his productions are totally inserted in it. Within his productions stands out the use of gold leaf alluding to religion, both oriental and catholic: for Jauregi the religious field is one of the most treated themes throughout his artistic career, so much so that the artist even exhibited in Bilbao a baptismal font made of burnt wood and gold leaf. Of great artistic production, his work walks towards an anonymous art, since sometimes he does not sign his productions.
