JOSÉ CÓZAR VIEDMA, (Baeza, Jaén, 1944). “Land". Oil on board. Signed in the lower left corner. Measurements: 25 x 33 cm, 34,50 x 43,50 cm (frame). Painter born in Baeza but settled in Valencia, José Cózar joins to his academic formation an innate predisposition first to the pencil, to the paintbrush in his youth and later to the spatula. He has received numerous awards, among them the Silver Badge of the Circle of Fine Arts of Valencia (1991), the First National Prize "Jaén" (1968), the Golden Shield of Baeza (1977) and the First Prize of the III Painting Contest "Esperanzas" of Valencia (1993). He is currently represented in the Provincial Museum of Jaén, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Municipal Historical Museum of Valencia, the Diputación de Barcelona, the City Councils of Jaén, Villajoyosa and Segorbe, the Municipal Museum of Segorbe and the Ethnographic Museum of Jávea, as well as in various private collections.
