María Carmen Corredoira lived two years in Madrid, where she was a student of Eduardo Chicharro y Agüera and José María López Mezquita. In 1909, she won the Gold Medal at the Regional Exhibition in Santiago. Two years later, she received a diploma at the Mexico Exposition. In 1935, she won second prize for her work "Sacristía conventual" at the II Certamen de Trabajo de Ferrol. In 1924, she was named member of merit of the Association of Painters and Sculptors of Madrid. In 1928, she entered the Seminary of Galician Studies. She was correspondent in La Coruña of the magazine "Realidades". Throughout his artistic career, he exhibited his work in numerous galleries nationally (Galicia, Madrid) and internationally (Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Oporto, among others). His work was exhibited in Galician museums such as the Quiñones de León Museum in Vigo and the Provincial Museum of Lugo. In his beginnings, his painting focused on portraits and figures, with an intimate character and, sometimes, a melancholic psychological charge, highlighting his Galician regionalist style when he moved to Madrid.
