Although of Swedish origin, Madeleine Edberg has developed most of her artistic career in Spain, settling in Malaga since the late 60s. Her language is recognized by her experimentation with different mixtures and materials, often incorporating paper as a common material element in her works, which can resemble collages. Throughout her career she has received several recognitions, including a tribute for her professional career and cultural management by the association Colectiva Observatorio Cultural Feminista in 2019, and the Plastic Arts Medal awarded by the Ateneo de Málaga in 2023. She has exhibited her work both in Spain and in Russia, Serbia, Denmark, Hungary and Poland. Her work is part of the Art Collection of the University of Malaga, the Museum of Contemporary Engraving in Marbella, the National Library of Spain (department of incunabula and rare books in Alcalá de Henares), the Ystad Museum in Sweden and the Malmö Art Museum, among others.
