Salvador Montó makes his first exhibitions in municipal and corporate halls, but in 1992 his career takes a turn when he decides to participate in painting contests and after being selected in several of them, in September he obtains the "Silver Medal" of the National Painting Contest of Salamanca, moment in which he decides to dedicate himself professionally to painting.

That same year, in November, Salvador Montó had his first individual exhibition at the Alfama Gallery (Madrid), where the Dukes of Alba acquired one of his works. In the following years he participated in the most prestigious painting competitions, both national and international, and obtained the First Prize in 6 of them, as well as numerous Honorable Mentions and Diplomas. He has also obtained the "BMW Medal of Honor" of the prestigious BMW painting contest in 1993, 1996, 2000 and 2002.

His international projection began in 1995 when, along with four other artists, he exhibited at La Boheme Gallery in Miami (USA). Since then, Salvador Montó combines his work in Spain and abroad, and in the following years he exhibits collectively and at art fairs in London, Strasbourg, Siegen (Germany), Buenos Aires, Berlin, Rome, Milan, Ghent, Innsbruck, Krakow, Verona, Parma and Brussels. He has also had solo exhibitions in Milan, Brescia and Brussels. From his first individual exhibition in 1992 in Madrid until the present, he has exhibited regularly in the main Spanish cities, such as Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Cordoba, Gijon, Bilbao, Marbella and Valencia, in different Art Galleries.

In 1998 and 2006 two monographs were published on the work of Salvador Montó, entitled "El paisaje interior" and "New York works".
