BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
LLUISA SALLENT (Barcelona, 1934).
"Female nude".
Pastel on paper.
Signed in the upper right corner.
Measurements: 50 x 65 cm; 65 x 81 cm (frame).
Lluisa Sallent was initially trained in the workshop of Pere Pruna, who had been fascinated by the drawings that the young woman made as mere entertainment. With Pruna she trained in drawing and oil painting and began to make herself known by signing her paintings as "Sallent". Some time later she would train in the sculptural field, with the artist Joan Rebull. In 1980 he exhibited for the first time individually in the Sala Parés, with considerable public and critical success. Subsequently he has also exhibited at the Sala Nonell in Barcelona, at the Alcolea in Madrid, and in other galleries and institutions. His style is decidedly figurative, of a resounding plasticity, with simplified but highly expressive volumes and great lyricism.
