Joost Beerents works mainly with acrylic paint, sometimes using combinations of other materials such as paper and textiles. He likes non-figurative aspects and prefers to produce large formats. His early works show warm and earthy colors. Today there is a transformation in the use of colors, becoming whites, grays, blues and blacks. Each painting has more layers, which gives a sense of depth. In addition, the layers make the painting appear to be before its time, with a classic-modern look and style. His work has been exhibited in several shows in the Netherlands since 1990. Subsequently, his work has been exhibited in London, Chicago and New York.
