Ferran Sostres stood out for a prolific career in illustration and comics, working mainly for the British and American markets during the 60s and 70s. After graduating in graphic arts at the Salesian Schools of Sarrià and perfecting his technique with José María Baixas, he opened his own studio in 1957. From 1960, he collaborated in the adaptation of the Bible "Héroes Bíblicos" for Ediciones Don Bosco. In the early sixties, he signed with the Belgian agency ALI, which represented him in the United Kingdom. Here, he specialized in comic book illustration, contributing to war collections such as "Commando", and other publications such as "Thriller Picture Library" and "TV21" ("Zero-X"). From 1972 to 1975, he ventured into the horror genre for the U.S. label Skywald, illustrating stories in magazines such as "Nightmare" and "Scream", which would later be translated in Spain into "Dossier Negro" and "Creepy". Later, he redirected his career towards advertising illustration and painting, abandoning comics. In the eighties, he became a key creator and illustrator for the multinational company Nestlé, expanding his work globally. In 1991, the Generalitat de Catalunya commissioned a series of sports paintings for the educational campaign of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, and his extensive curriculum includes numerous works for renowned commercial brands such as Roca, Cola-Cao, Borges and Nescafé.
