Son of Antonia Viver i Palet, and therefore grandson of Pere Viver i Aimerich, Joan Torras Viver began his training with his mother, and later expanded it in the Academies Valls and Fine Arts of Sant Jordi in Barcelona and with Victor Moya. Finally, between 1957 and 1958, he made a study trip to Europe that took him to France, Holland, Germany and, especially, Italy.
