Alemany began his training at the School of Arts and Crafts in Barcelona, and later continued at the Conservatory of Sumptuary Arts. In 1978 he organizes his first individual exhibition at the Serrallonga Gallery in Barcelona. In this first period his style follows abstract approaches that will gradually become figurative, evolving to the detailed realism and close to magic that characterizes his current production. He has exhibited in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Paris, Lyon, Lyon, San Francisco, New York and Chicago, and won second prize at the Monte Carlo Biennial in 1991. His work is on display at the Marugame Hirai Museum of Spanish Contemporary Art in Marugame, Japan.
