Vives Fierro began his training at La Lonja and at the Círculo Artístico de Sant Lluc, in Barcelona. In 1961 he moved to Paris, and the following year he made his individual debut in Cartagena. Two years later he had his first personal exhibition in Barcelona, at the Sala Rovira. From 1970 onwards he lived for periods in London, where he found themes for many of his paintings, as well as organizing several exhibitions. He has exhibited all over the world, in cities in Europe, America and the Middle East. His work has been recognized with several awards, such as the Gold Medal and the Girona Painting Prize, the Ricard Canals, the Clau de Barcelona and the Sant Jordi Cross. His work can be found in the Olympic Museum of Lausanne, the Reina Sofia Museum of Athens, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Montevideo, the FC Barcelona Museum and the La Caixa de Pensions Foundation, among many other public and private collections.
