Artisan ceramist, Joan Panisello was formed in the Schools of Arts and Trades of Tortosa and Tarragona. He also maintains close and frequent contacts with the Ceramics Schools of La Bisbal d'Empordà (Girona), Barcelona and Enfanga't (Girona). In 1975 he obtained the title of Graduate in Applied Arts and Artistic Crafts, specializing in CERAMICS (Llotja School, Barcelona). His work is known in the five continents through more than 1,600 publications around the world written about his work. In 2008 the Spanish Ministry of Culture organized a retrospective and traveling exhibition of his work, and in 2008 the Spanish Ministry of Culture organized a retrospective and traveling exhibition of his work. A total of 38 national and international awards (Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Japan, Romania) endorse his personal prestige and professional achievements. In 1992 he received the title of "Tortosí de l'any 1991". In 2013 he was elected member of the International Academy of Ceramics.
