DESCRIPTION
FRANCISCO SABORIT SANS (Mataró, Barcelona, 1913-Barcelona, 2005).
"Gran Vía", Barcelona.
Oil on canvas.
Signed in the lower right corner. Signed, titled and located on the back.
Measurements: 59 x 80 cm; 63 x 84 cm (frame).
He was formed in the School Llotja. He began to exhibit collectively in 1935, in the Catalonia galleries of Barcelona. He held his first individual exhibition in 1942, at the Sala Costa, and later at the Jaimes gallery. Among his distinctions are the Honorable Mention of the Comtat de Barcelona Prize (1955), and the National Fine Arts Prize in 1957. He has held numerous exhibitions, both in Spain and abroad. His work, mainly landscapes, reflects a solid academic background. He is represented in the Museum of Mataró. In this landscape, Saborit uses a luminist palette that combines warm and cold tones in a studied harmonic play. The brushstroke is agile and intuitive.
