ALBERT FABÁ (Tortosa, 1927-2022).

Mixed media on panel.

Measurements: 77 x 100 cm; 80 x 108 cm (frame).
His training as a painter is partially self-taught. As a young man, he attended drawing classes at the School of Labor of the time; later he copied the classics at the school of José Andreu and later, during and after his military service, at the School of Arts and Crafts of Barcelona and the rest of his training, on his own. Around the year 50, he draws and paints natural landscapes of Tortosa and the regions of the Ebro. He exhibits in groups and competitions. In 1951, he was part of "Delta 51", a movement led by Matías Ballester, in which many young painters from the region were grouped together. In the 60's, he ceased to be interested in the open landscape and approached the object, reflecting at the same time on the function of his work. At this time he was an active member of the Macla-65 group, a movement with a marked social realism.
