Artist considered as one of the most outstanding representatives of the great tradition of the Catalan iron sculpture, Agustí Roqué started in the art world in the 70's. After living in London for ten years, he began his career in the art world. After residing in London for ten years, his work has moved in a double component that unites a certain sculptural tradition of Anglo-Saxon tone with a strong urban awareness. In 2015 he participated in the 56th Venice Art Biennale and in the International Sculpture exhibition. In his recent works presented in Venice he has worked with large sheets of steel, iron, aluminum and colored curved glass. Throughout his extensive career, Roqué has carried out outstanding public sculpture projects and works in Europe and the United States. His works have received important awards. His sculptures, with an experimentation that has diversified in various materials, have been exhibited in museums and galleries in Europe, the United States and Japan, and his work is represented in private collections, museums and foundations. According to the artist himself on his website: "In his artistic career Roqué has been following his own research within a process of constant investigation that has allowed him to take contemporary sculpture to a new dimension. His career is marked by themes, procedures and techniques that have consolidated a strong and expressive type of work. Four decades dedicated to sculpture have earned him international recognition and have provided him with a compositional method that manages to realize new forms through which we can look at the world around us, as well as promising a different configuration of reality."
