BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
XAVIER MEDINA CAMPENY (Barcelona, 1943).
Untitled, 1995.
Mixed media on paper.
Measurements: 43 x 32 cm; 57 x 45 cm (frame).
Self-taught sculptor, he has exhibited in Mataró, Lió, Barcelona and Madrid, and in collective exhibitions in Madrid, Basel (Switzerland) and Legano (Italy), among other cities. After his beginnings in constructivism, in the sixties, his work evolves influenced by the dream world and pop-art, finally reaching a fully personal style, in which inexpressive figurative representations are manipulated as pure forms, in search of plastic beauty. He has lived in New York since 1974. Xavier Medina's work can be seen at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, the MACBA, the Bears Found in New York, the North Carolina Museum of Art and the Pagani Foundation in Legano, among others.
