Miguel Acevedo is a costumbrista painter who, already as a child, showed signs of his pictorial vocation. He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts of Cordoba. In 1965 he took the costume of lights and acted as a bullfighter in several bullfights, but, in the end and given the difficulties of promotion in this world, painting was imposed. In 1969 he won second prize in an open-air painting competition in which many professionals participated, and he finished his Arts and Crafts degree in two years, graduating with fourteen. This prodigy of drawing and painting, at the age of seventeen, in 1965, won the First Prize of Painting of Andalusia. When he was told that in Gijón there was a favorable environment for painting, he went to this city in 1971, where he met José Sáenz Cristóbal and managed to sell his work. In 1974 he settled permanently in Gijón. In 1991 he moved to La Navata, in Madrid, where he has lived ever since. In 1997 he spent six months at the Disney factory in Burbank, California, teaching outdoor lighting to the company's artists. His work has been exhibited in numerous Spanish cities such as Gijón, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Nogal in Oviedo, Madrid, etc. He is currently represented in important national and regional collections.
