Manuel de Gracia began his training in a self-taught way, and finally at the age of nineteen he went to Madrid, where he worked as a brush painter while attending classes at the Círculo de Bellas Artes. Some time later he makes his first trip to Paris, and returns to Spain in 1963, having to work in the realization of movie posters for nine years, a period in which he holds his first exhibition in the Toisón room in Madrid. Later, he exhibited his work individually at the Eureka gallery and, afterwards, he showed his work in Valladolid and Santander. In 1973 he is awarded the Africa Prize, and receives a pension to travel to the Sahara. His exhibitions in Madrid follow one after the other, he travels around Europe and develops an increasingly impressionistic language. From 1975 to the present day he has held numerous exhibitions in various Spanish cities, especially in the Basque Country and Madrid, as well as participating in important group shows in the United States, Switzerland, France, Switzerland, Malta, etc.
