In an earthy bottom the figure of a young woman on horseback is outlined. Her face, of melancholic expression, seems to emerge from the pictorial substratum as an apparition, an echo of dream. The body is composed of bouquets of plants that merge her with an otherworldly nature. Next to her, a tree unfolds a canopy made of organic tracery, a vegetal framework that dialogues with the figure. The horse, in the same tone as the background, blends in with it: its silhouette is crossed by the same plant motifs, as if animal, woman and environment were part of a single fabric. The scene conveys a dreamlike atmosphere, where the human, the animal and the plant intertwine in an image of serene and mysterious sadness.
