Painter and sculptor, Josep Lloveras was formed in the Tàrrega Academy and in the Superior School of Fine Arts of Barcelona, and soon he exhibited his works in the Palace of the Virreina and the Argos gallery, hall this last one where he made his individual debut in 1945. From that date, and for three years, he made a series of trips to North Africa, and after returning he went to Paris to study at the Louvre School. From the city of the Seine he travels to England, the Netherlands, Scandinavia and Italy, and exhibits his work in Paris, Stockholm and London. On his return to Paris, he embarked on a new trip, this time to India. In the fifties he was in Cuba, where he reached his creative maturity. He held important exhibitions there until 1967, when he left Cuba and, after visiting Miami, he spent some time in Puerto Rico. In 1970 he returned to Barcelona and settled there permanently. In 2006 the City Council of his native Cassà dedicates a tribute to him, and the creation of the Josep Lloveras Foundation is announced.
