Painter specialized in the thematic landscape, although he also made portraits, Vicenç Solé Jorba was formed in the School of Fine Arts of Olot, where he entered in 1915 and studied with notable achievement. Twenty years later, in November 1935, he obtained by competition the position of professor of drawing at the same school, filling the vacancy that had remained after the death of Professor Celestí Devesa. Solé Jorba was a favorite disciple of the notable Olot landscape painter Iu Pascual, and took part in the group exhibitions held at the Sala Vayreda in Olot. Most of his individual exhibitions were held, with notable success, at the famous Sala Parés in Barcelona. He also exhibited his work in Madrid and Bilbao. In 2005, the Museu Comarcal de La Garrotxa dedicated a large anthological exhibition to him on the occasion of the centenary of his birth. He was a remarkable landscape painter and his works, drawn with mastery, are impregnated with lyricism, sentimental emotion and extraordinary beauty and color. His landscapes were the expression of his personal sensitivity and honesty, and he is currently considered one of the best Catalan landscape painters. Today he is represented in the Col-lecció Garreta-Rovira in Mollet del Vallès and in the Museu Comarcal de La Garrotxa, as well as in various private collections.
