Walter Deliotti was born in Montevideo on October 2, 1925. He studies art with Alceu Ribeiro and enters the Taller Torres García in 1954, where he studies with Julio Alpuy and Augusto Torres. From then on he works actively on his constructive style work and participates in all the collective exhibitions of the workshop since 1956. After several trips of study and creation in Europe and North America, Deliotti holds solo exhibitions of crucial importance in his career and obtains critical acclaim and great acceptance by national and international collectors. Solo exhibitions began in 1966 at the Porley Gallery in Montevideo and continue to the present, in several galleries and art spaces in Montevideo, Buenos Aires and Punta del Este: "U", Losada, Salón Knoll de Arte, Vezelay, Moretti, Tempo, Frida and Sur galleries. In 2004, in Montevideo, a tribute exhibition was held in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of his joining the Taller Torres García and Escuela del Sur. Throughout his career, he has participated in more than a hundred group exhibitions and received important awards and recognitions. He won the Acquisition Prize at the Municipal Salon of Montevideo in 1972-74 and the 1st Prize at the same Municipal Salon in 1984; the prizes awarded by the Bank of the Republic in 1979 and 1980; the awards at the Plastic Arts Salons of San José in 1983 and 1984 and those obtained at the Painting Salon of the Automobile Club of Uruguay in 1983 and 1984, among others.
His works are part of museums and public and private collections in Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, USA, Spain, Israel, England and Sweden.
