Alonso Perez was a Spanish painter known for his delicate genre scenes set in the eighteenth century, with a style close to Rococo. He moved young to Paris, where he developed most of his artistic career, specializing in small works depicting gallant, elegant and romantic scenes, with great attention to detail. He also worked as an illustrator and tapestry designer. His life was brief, but he left a body of work highly valued for its refinement and nostalgic charm.
