Rafael Llimona began his training at the Galí Academy in Barcelona, and later traveled to Paris, Belgium and Italy. His main themes of interest were the landscape and the female figure, after having been admired by the work of the impressionists in Paris. He had several individual exhibitions within the group of the Sala Parés, in Barcelona and Madrid. He was awarded an extraordinary prize at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Barcelona in 1941. His work is in the Museum of Modern Art of Madrid, the MACBA of Barcelona and in private collections in Spain and Latin America.
