he painting, belonging to the Spanish school of the early twentieth century, presents the semi-nude portrait of a young woman conceived with a clearly expressive approach and marked academic accent. The figure appears half-length, turned three-quarters to the right, while directing a direct and slightly melancholic gaze at the viewer. Her face, softly modeled through tonal transitions that highlight the bone structure and the delicacy of the skin, is the main emotional focus of the composition. The dark hair falls loosely over the shoulders, framing the head and reinforcing the intensity of the gesture.
The torso is depicted with a more visible and dynamic brushstroke, which accentuates the fleshiness and volumetry of the bust, partially covered by a carelessly arranged light fabric. This contrast between the more polished treatment of the face and the freer execution of the body reveals an interest in combining academic tradition with a certain pictorial modernity.
The background, executed in reddish and ochre tones, is constructed from broad, impastoed brushstrokes that generate a warm, vibrant atmosphere, separating the figure from the surroundings to give it an almost sculptural presence.
