The work presents a diptych structure, where two compositions dialogue with each other. The result is an image with a strong poetic and narrative charge, which evokes displacement, memory and visual fragmentation, common features in the creation of the late 80's, where collage was used as a means of reflection on the image and its symbolic construction.
Àngeles Viladomiu is a visual artist and holds a PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. Her research explores the connections between art, botany and dendrology through interdisciplinary artistic projects. Part of her research has focused on the study of ancient herbaria, carried out at Botanical Institutes such as Botanische Sammlung-Goethe National Museum-Klassik Stiftung Weimar; Institut für Spezielle Botanik of the Jena Botanical Garden, Herbarium Haussknecht Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena and the Institut Botànic de Barcelona. She has collaborated with researchers, biologists, botanists and gardeners in the development of her projects "Plants in Captivity" (Kunstverein, Marburg 2019); "Herbarium Nigrum" (Galeria Montoriol, Barcelona, 2018); "Plantes Rares. Plec de treball, Farrera" (Institut d'Estudis Catalans, Barcelona, 2016); "Biodiversity-Artist's cemetery" (Fridenau Friedhof, Berlin, 2013), etc. With a long trajectory of national and international exhibitions in art centers, museums and galleries, such as Fundación Miró, Barcelona; ARTIUM Centro-Museo Vasco de Arte Contemporáneo, Vitoria-Gasteiz; Galería Moriarty, Galería Fúcares, Madrid. His work is represented in various public and private collections such as Col-lecció Testimoni, Barcelona; Coca-Cola Foundation Collection. Centro de Arte Contemporáneo DA2, Salamanca; Collection of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid. She is a professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona and coordinator of the official Master PRODART. Artistic production and research at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona.
