Painter, sculptor and professor of drawing, Andres Cillero is considered today one of the main introducers of pop art in Spain, although since the sixties, when he is closer to this language, his work has evolved constantly, in a totally personal way. Trained in Valencia, Madrid, Paris and Rome, he was awarded for the first time in 1954 in a university competition, and it was then when he decided to devote himself to painting. He exhibited all over the world, and played an important role in the cultural development of the Valencian scene. He was also awarded the National Painting Prize in 1976. He is currently represented in the Museum of Vilafamés, the Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia, the IVAM and other public and private collections.
