Set of two works that aesthetically seem to have been conceived as a conceptual unit. Zush was Alberto Porta's artistic alter ego between 1968 and 2001, a creative territory of his own that gave way, from that year on, to the birth of Evru, his new artistic identity. Self-taught, in 1975 he obtained a scholarship from the Juan March Foundation and the J. W. Fulbright that allowed him to further his studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a decisive experience in the conceptual expansion of his work.
Since the 1970s he has participated continuously in solo and group exhibitions that consolidated his international projection. In 2000, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía dedicated an extensive retrospective to him, coinciding with the awarding of the City of Barcelona Prize for Plastic Arts. His work is now part of prominent public and private collections around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim in New York, the Reina Sofia Museum, the MACBA, the Valencian Institute of Modern Art and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, among many others.
